The Milwaukee Brewers welcomed Jackson Chourio back to the lineup, and he did not disappoint.

Jackson Chourio made a triumphant return to the Milwaukee Brewers lineup on Monday night, and the young star showed exactly why the team has been counting the days until his comeback.

Though the Brewers fell 6-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals in their series opener, Chourio's performance was nothing short of spectacular. After missing over a month due to a hand fracture sustained during the World Baseball Classic, the outfielder picked up right where he left off, delivering a perfect 4-for-4 night at the plate with two doubles and a walk.

"I just went out there to compete," Chourio told reporters after the game. "And thanks to God, I had a pretty good day out there and I'm happy about that. That's what I've been working for."

The Brewers' offense has clearly missed his production during his absence, and his return couldn't have come at a better time. Despite his personal success, Chourio showed the maturity of a seasoned veteran when discussing the team's missed opportunities.

"I think it's frustrating," he admitted. "Today we left a lot of runners out there on the bases. But at the same time, we have a very talented group in here and I have a lot of confidence in all the guys. I know that we'll cash in on some of those opportunities later on."

When asked about his favorite hit of the night, Chourio didn't pick the first-inning double that marked his return. Instead, he pointed to a two-out single in the third inning that showcased his patience and approach at the plate.

"I think the second at-bat," he said. "There, I was able to be a little bit more patient and just see more pitches, and it ended in a hit."

What's particularly impressive is how Chourio maintained his game readiness during his time on the injured list. The rookie made it clear that he never took a day off from his preparation.

"I feel really good," Chourio shared. "I never stopped doing anything, I never stopped doing activities. I was in the gym every day."

That dedication is exactly what Brewers fans love to see—and exactly the kind of work ethic that translates into memorable performances like Monday night's showstopper.
