New Indiana Fever teammates and fellow guards Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson seem to already be fast friends after the latter joined the team in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
Despite some speculation that there could be friction stemming from the infamous 2023 NCAA tournament Clark wave-off on Johnson, Clark and Johnson have seemingly put all of that in the past... as was expected by reasonable minds since these are two working professionals and mature adults with the capacity for empathetic nuance.
While Johnson said the two haven't really spoken about the 2023 tourney moment, she also affirmed that it's in the past at this point.
"We’re teammates now, and we have one goal; that’s to win a championship," Johnson told reporters about joining a team with Clark, per The Athletic's James Boyd.
#Fever rookie Raven Johnson, asked if she and Caitlin Clark have spoken about Clark waving her off at the 3-point line in the 2023 Final Four:“No, we haven’t. I think that’s in the past, honestly. We’re teammates now and we have one goal, that’s to win a championship. …” pic.twitter.com/78buYRDqop
The two have been very complimentary with each other during their brief time as teammates, with Johnson calling Clark a huge help "through all the hard times" of getting adjusted to a WNBA career and Clark saying she's "proud" of how Johnson has acclimated to joining the Fever.
Raven Johnson on getting acclimated to training camp “It’s actually very exciting…Caitlin Clark she was helping me through all the hard times...I was like what do I do here or like where should I cut…I asked her probably like a thousand questions yesterday.” pic.twitter.com/v2romoj1kN
Caitlin says she’s proud of Raven Johnson “Just helping as much as I can especially Raven who’s gonna be a primary ball handler and trying to conduct the offense that’s a big responsibility. And just empowering her to use her voice...proud of her for sure.” pic.twitter.com/1JBYvTtFQn
The two also clearly seem to get along just fine, even joking with each other during Saturday's road preseason win against the New York Liberty.

As there never was to begin with, there's nothing substantial to any speculation that the 2023 wave-off is going to have any impact on how Clark and Johnson get along now.
From the looks of it, Clark and Johnson seem to be hitting it off splendidly. Any narratives that there's some sort of tension between the two should dissipate at this point. There's just no evidence of any animosity whatsoever.
