Rangers manager Danny Rohl faces a defining summer as his side's season crumbles into a third-place finish in the Scottish Premiership. The German boss must learn hard lessons fast after a devastating run that saw his team knocked out of both domestic cups and humbled by Celtic in the league.

The Ibrox rebuild is becoming an all-too-familiar story. Three consecutive post-split defeats—against Motherwell, Hearts, and Celtic—have extinguished any hope of Champions League football next season. For a club of Rangers' stature, this is a bitter pill to swallow.

Rohl inherited a mess when he took over in October, trailing Hearts by 13 points. He turned things around dramatically, briefly topping the table on goal difference in early April. But the wheels have come off spectacularly: just one win in four games, and three consecutive league losses for the first time since 2000.

"We had a great position before the split and this is hard to take," Rohl admitted to BBC Sport Scotland after the Celtic Park defeat. "We have to improve and develop quick. We have to learn in these key moments to be clinical and play without mistakes."

The questions are mounting. Can Rohl—reportedly attracting interest from Germany—be the man to lead yet another fresh start? Former Ibrox midfielder Andy Halliday notes it's "only natural for some Rangers fans to have their doubts" after such a collapse.

For a club that demands silverware and Champions League nights, this summer's rebuild feels especially critical. The blueprint is clear: cut out the mistakes, be clinical in big moments, and rediscover the form that briefly had Rangers dreaming of glory. The clock is ticking on Rohl's project.
