Another Trojan is off the board! On Saturday, the Houston Texans selected USC safety Kamari Ramsey in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Ramsey was selected with the No. 141 pick.

As a redshirt junior in 2025, Ramsey finished with 27 tackles and two passes defended despite being limited by injuries throughout the season. For the second year in a row, he was named All-Big Ten honorable mention.

Ramsey started his college career across town at rival UCLA. He redshirted his true freshman season in 2022, before emerging as a starter at safety in 2023. After USC hired away UCLA defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn following the 2023 season, Ramsey elected to follow Lynn and transfer to the Trojans.

In 2024 with USC, Ramsey recorded 60 tackles, five passes defended, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. He considered entering the 2025 NFL Draft, but elected to return to school for the 2025 season.

If Ramsey can stay healthy, he has the potential to be a starting safety in the NFL. He will now look to make that potential a reality in Houston alongside fellow Trojan Calen Bullock.
