The Glasgow Warriors are set to welcome back two key Scotland internationals for their final home match of the URC regular season, as George Horne and Matt Fagerson return from injury to face Cardiff on Friday evening.

Both players have been sidelined since April, with Horne recovering from an ankle injury and Fagerson overcoming a hamstring issue. Their return provides a significant boost to a Warriors side looking to close the gap on league leaders Stormers, who currently sit just one point ahead in the standings.

The team sheet reveals nine changes from last week's lineup, highlighting the depth of the squad. Zander Fagerson completes a formidable front-row trio alongside Jamie Bhatti and Johnny Matthews, while Ally Miller earns his first start in the second row. Matt Fagerson and Rory Darge will patrol the flanks, and Dan Lancaster returns to the number 10 jersey. Horne takes his place at scrum-half, ready to orchestrate play from the base of the ruck.

With a five-point haul firmly in their sights, Glasgow will be eager to put pressure on the Stormers, who face Ulster away on Friday. Head coach Franco Smith expressed his excitement about the home crowd's role in the team's journey. "Everyone is looking forward to being back at our home tomorrow night," Smith said. "Cardiff remain firmly in the play-off hunt with a squad fully committed to their goal, and they will come here ready to compete for everything. Our focus this week has been on ourselves. We know how much the supporters are a part of our journey, especially this season – we want to give them a performance to be proud of in our last home game of the regular season."

The Warriors' starting XV features a blend of experience and emerging talent: McKay, Steyn (capt), McDowall, Tuipulotu, Rowe, Lancaster, Horne; Bhatti, Matthews, Z Fagerson, Miller, Samuel, M Fagerson, Darge, Dempsey. The replacements bench includes Hiddleston, Schickerling, Talakai, Oguntibeju, Duncan, Vailanu, Afshar, and Smith.

As the regular season reaches its climax, this match promises to be a thrilling contest, with both teams fighting for playoff positioning. For Glasgow, the return of Horne and Fagerson could be the catalyst they need to finish the campaign on a high note.
