The Miami Heat are heading into Sunday's NBA Draft Lottery with their fingers crossed, hoping that a bit of luck—and a familiar face—can tip the scales in their favor. After missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019, the Heat will enter the lottery as the 13th seed, meaning the odds aren't exactly stacked in their corner. But if there's one man who knows how to deliver under pressure, it's Alonzo Mourning.

The Heat legend and current team executive will once again take the stage during the televised lottery results in Chicago (Sunday at 3 p.m. on ABC). This marks Mourning's fourth time serving as the team's lottery representative, and he's got a proven track record. In 2019, his presence helped bring in Tyler Herro. In 2017, it was Bam Adebayo. And in 2015, Justise Winslow. Not a bad lineup for a guy who says he's just trying to bring good vibes.

"Listen man, I like to think I bought the team good luck," Mourning said with a grin. "Hopefully my representation will help us bring another franchise pillar for the organization. The draft is an opportunity for us to get that next player that we can grow and develop. That next piece."

Behind the scenes, Heat assistant general manager Adam Simon will be working the actual lottery process before the picks are announced to the public. With Mourning's charisma on stage and Simon's expertise in the room, the Heat are hoping to land a building block that can help them bounce back stronger than ever. After all, every great team needs that one lucky break—and for Miami, this weekend could be it.
