This week's high school baseball action in Central Indiana was nothing short of spectacular, featuring walk-off heroics, dominant pitching performances, and power at the plate. Now it's your turn to decide who takes home the IndyStar Player of the Week honors for April 27 through May 2.
Last week's winner, Hudson Stewart of Center Grove, set the bar high with a scorching .600 batting average, two home runs, and six RBIs. But this week's nominees have delivered their own highlight-reel moments that deserve your attention.
On the mound, several arms stood out with shutout performances. Blair threw a complete-game gem against Jac-Cen-Del, striking out 11 while allowing just three hits over six innings. That's not a one-time feat either—Blair currently boasts a perfect 0.00 ERA with 33 strikeouts across 18 innings this season.
Another sophomore delivered a similar masterpiece, tossing seven shutout innings with 12 strikeouts and only three hits allowed against Perry Meridian. Meanwhile, Nahre fired a complete game in a win over Carmel, allowing just four hits with six strikeouts and zero walks.
Westerfeld also made his case with a 12-strikeout complete game shutout against Greencastle, adding a home run at the plate for good measure. And McDaniel showed incredible endurance, pitching 8⅓ innings for the Falcons, striking out eight while allowing just one unearned run.
But it wasn't just about pitching this week. Dalton delivered the most dramatic moment of the week with a walk-off double against Plainfield, driving in three runs to cap a 4-for-7, four-RBI performance. Eve batted .500 with eight RBIs while also contributing on the mound with four strikeouts in three innings.
From shutouts to walk-off hits, this week's nominees have proven that Indiana high school baseball is alive and well. Cast your vote below before noon Friday to help crown this week's champion.
