Noah Strohman captured his fourth consecutive Class 3A title in the event, extending his perfect state record to 9-0 dating back to his freshman year. Hot on his heels, younger brother Ryder claimed silver for the second straight season, proving that the Strohman dynasty shows no signs of slowing down.

The race unfolded with a familiar rhythm. Noah took control early, breaking away from the pack with smooth, powerful strides. The crowd watched as he crossed the finish line in a state-record time of 9 minutes, 2.35 seconds, flashing four fingers to the sky—one for each championship. Ryder, who stayed close for the first five laps, finished strong at 9:10.48, also besting Noah's previous state record. The twins, both Oklahoma State signees, were set to compete later in the 800 and 1,600 meters, adding even more excitement to their day.

This year's journey had a twist. At the Region I-3A meet two weeks prior, Ryder edged out his brother, who was nursing a calf strain. But at state, the script returned to its usual form. "It was a little easier than I expected," Noah said. "Coming down here, it didn't feel like I was going to state. Then I walked up here and I'm like, 'I'm excited to be back, excited for a great day.'"

For Ryder, the silver medal carried its own weight. "It's great, getting second behind my brother—I can't ask for much more," he said. When asked what meant more, his regional upset or the state silver, he didn't hesitate: "Getting second at state. That means everything. These other meets mean a lot, but state is the main."

The Strohman brothers continue to set the standard in Texas high school distance running, proving that the bond of family and the drive for excellence are a winning combination.
