Wednesday's Cape Cod and Islands high school softball slate delivered a major statement game, as the Sandwich Blue Knights handed the previously undefeated Monomoy Sharks their first loss of the season in an 11-6 offensive showcase.

Sandwich (6-2) was powered by a complete team effort. Maddie Brown drove in four runs, while Mia Consalvi, Capri Barber, and Arabella Finton each contributed two hits. In the circle, Sophie Farrington was dominant, striking out 13 batters to secure her third win of the week.

Despite the loss, Monomoy (5-1) saw a historic performance from Lexi Totten, who finished a perfect 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple, a double, and three RBIs. Kiley Mawn added two more RBIs as part of the Sharks' 10-hit effort.

Elsewhere, the Falmouth Clippers (2-5) earned a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Dennis-Yarmouth (2-3) in a classic pitcher's duel. Ellie Bennett was the story for Falmouth, scattering three hits over seven innings while racking up 11 strikeouts and also scoring both of her team's runs.

The Nauset Warriors (5-1) continued their strong start with a 12-3 win over Barnstable. Brynn Kew put on a two-way clinic, going 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and then taking over in the circle to pitch four innings of hitless relief, striking out 11 batters.

In other action, Somerset Berkley defeated Bourne, while the Falmouth baseball team extended its win streak to four games with a 7-2 victory over Dennis-Yarmouth.
