Corner Canyon edged No. 6 Bingham 2-1 in Game 2 of the 6A Super Regionals to force a deciding Game 3 later today. The Chargers took an early lead in the first inning and secured the victory with another run in the eighth, courtesy of Krew Thorn’s RBI double. Bingham managed to level the score at 1-1 in the third inning, but couldn’t sustain their momentum.

The stakes were high on Thursday as the 6A/5A Super Regionals continued, delivering a day of dramatic comebacks, dominant pitching, and explosive offenses. In one of the most intense matchups of the day, Corner Canyon edged No. 6 Bingham 2-1 in Game 2, forcing a decisive Game 3 that will take place later today. The Chargers struck early with a run in the first inning, but the Miners answered back in the third to level the score at 1-1. The game remained deadlocked until the eighth inning, when Krew Thorn delivered a clutch RBI double to give Corner Canyon the lead. Zach Sorenson was the star on the mound, holding Bingham to just one hit, while Dax Bradford took the loss for the Miners despite striking out four.

Meanwhile, No. 3 Lone Peak put on a hitting clinic, crushing No. 14 Westlake 14-1 to sweep the series 2-0 and punch their ticket to next week’s 6A bracket play at BYU. Krew Robinson was unstoppable, going 3 for 3 with three RBIs, while Boston Walkenhorst also drove in three runs. The Knights broke the game wide open with a seven-run third inning, leaving Westlake unable to recover despite scoring a late run in the fifth.

Over in another Super Regional, No. 5 Lehi showed no mercy, dismantling No. 12 Davis 15-3 in Game 2 to complete a 2-0 series sweep. Cole Ybarra went a perfect 3 for 3 with three RBIs, and Murphy Madsen added a home run and three RBIs of his own. Lehi’s offense exploded early, plating five runs in each of the first two innings and adding four more in the third to put the game out of reach.

In a thrilling turnaround, Corner Canyon also rallied from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to beat No. 6 Bingham 10-5 in another Game 2 of the 6A Super Regionals, forcing a deciding third game later today. Bingham jumped out to an early lead, but the Chargers answered with five runs in the fifth inning and sealed the victory with four more in the seventh. Zach Sorenson led the charge with a double and two RBIs, while Crew Dredge drove in all five runs for the Miners.

Finally, No. 9 Jordan clinched their spot in next week’s bracket play with an 11-3 victory over No. 8 Layton, sweeping the best-of-3 series 2-0. Isaac Salazar went 2 for 4, hitting a home run and driving in two runs, while Beckham Livingston went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Jordan’s offense came alive in the middle innings, scoring seven runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to secure the win.
