The 2026 All-District 1-4A softball team is here, and it's headlined by two standout performers who dominated the diamond all season long. North DeSoto's Macie Cameron and Northwood's Mackenzie Jagers have been named co-MVPs, leading a talented group of players recognized for their exceptional play.
Despite fielding a young roster with just one senior, the North DeSoto Lady Griffins once again proved why they are the class of the district. Freshman pitcher Macie Cameron was simply unstoppable. She posted a remarkable 24-4 record with a microscopic 1.30 ERA and an eye-popping 327 strikeouts. Cameron was at her best when it mattered most, tossing a no-hitter in the LHSAA Non-Select Division II state championship game, earning her MVP honors for that contest as well. And she wasn't just a force in the circle—batting cleanup, she also crushed nine home runs, drove in 40 RBIs, and hit .383 on the year.
Sharing the co-MVP spotlight is Northwood senior Mackenzie Jagers, who put together a season for the ages. Jagers posted a staggering .659 batting average, launching 14 home runs and driving in 61 RBIs for coach McKenzie Hulett. Perhaps most impressively, she struck out just once all season—a testament to her elite plate discipline and power.
On the coaching side, Tim Whitman of North DeSoto was named Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to yet another state championship—the 10th of his illustrious career. It's a fitting honor for a coach who continues to build a dynasty in the 4A ranks.
With young stars like Cameron leading the charge and seniors like Jagers closing out their high school careers in style, the future of District 1-4A softball looks as bright as ever. Whether you're a fan of power hitting or dominant pitching, this year's all-district team had a little bit of everything—and we can't wait to see what 2027 brings.
