The 2026 All-District 1-4A baseball team has been announced, and it's a star-studded lineup that showcases the incredible talent from across the league. Leading the charge is North DeSoto's Luke Delafield, who was named the Most Valuable Player after a standout season that helped power the Griffins to the LHSAA Non-Select Division II quarterfinals.
Delafield, a Northwestern State football signee, was a force on both sides of the ball. At the plate, he hit an impressive .411 with 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored, while on the mound, he posted a 9-2 record with 55 strikeouts and a stellar 2.55 ERA. His teammate, Braden Jones, was named Pitcher of the Year after an outstanding campaign that saw him go 4-0 with 47 strikeouts and a 2.65 ERA. Jones also made his presence felt offensively, batting .396 with six home runs, 27 RBIs, and 33 runs scored.
Breaking up the North DeSoto sweep of the top honors was Northwood junior catcher Nathan Cervantes, who earned Hitter of the Year. Cervantes put up video-game numbers, hitting .442 with 11 doubles, 12 home runs, 29 RBIs, and drawing 37 walks. His ability to get on base and drive in runs made him a nightmare for opposing pitchers all season.
The All-District First Team is packed with talent, featuring pitchers Landon Brewer (Minden), Luke Delafield (North DeSoto), Braden Jones (North DeSoto), and Landon Martin (Northwood). The infield is anchored by Portal Doyal (North DeSoto), Luca Golden (Loyola Prep), Trace Ogle (North DeSoto), and Miller Warren (North DeSoto), while the outfield boasts Christian Ashworth (North DeSoto), Jake Black (Loyola Prep), Drake Parker (North DeSoto), and Caden Pryor (Loyola Prep). Colton LaCour (North DeSoto) takes the designated hitter spot, and the utility positions are filled by Ian Ellis (North DeSoto), Greyson Minnis (Loyola Prep), and Braydon Winston (Minden).
The Second Team also features a wealth of talent, including pitchers Trace Carver (Northwood), Wes Chafin (Loyola Prep), Preston Eaves (North DeSoto), Mason Pavlick (Loyola Prep), Jaxon Smith (Minden), and Michael Thomas (Bossier). Infielders Maddox Bentzler (Northwood), Will Pickett (Loyola Prep), Sam Ricord (Northwood), and Mehki Thomas (Southwood) round out the group, along with outfielders who made their mark on the diamond.
