In his final season at LSU, he was tested by a schedule that included quarterbacks Trinidad Chambliss, Taylen Green, Cade Klubnik, John Mateer, LaNorris Sellers, and Ty Simpson, but he allowed just 14 receptions on 35 targets for fewer than 170 yards and no touchdowns.
Delane is a lockdown cornerback capable of mirroring and matching top wide receivers. His sticky man coverage allows limited separation and puts him in positions to generate game-changing plays. Delane is a loose, agile athlete with better speed and recovery burst than many analysts acknowledge.
His vision and instincts support his work in man coverage, but also make him a lurking assassin in zone. He baits quarterbacks into poor throws and jumps routes for potential turnovers.
