In a big blow to already-struggling MI, their full-time captain Hardik Pandya was not available for selection because he was "unwell". However, star batter Rohit Sharma made it into the side and returned after the hamstring injury.

The Mumbai Indians are in a tough spot, and things just got a bit harder. Captain Hardik Pandya was ruled out of Monday's clash against the Lucknow Super Giants due to illness, leaving stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav to lead the charge. But there's a silver lining for MI fans: star batter Rohit Sharma is back in the lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Winning the toss at the Wankhede Stadium, Suryakumar Yadav had no hesitation in opting to field first. "It's a bit humid tonight, and we saw in the second innings how the pitch improves," he explained. With MI languishing near the bottom of the table, every game is a must-win now. "You can't run away from the fact that MI isn't used to being in this position," Surya added. "We have five games left, and we need to win them all. It's time to put our hands up and play our best cricket."

On the other side, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant acknowledged his team's own struggles this season. "It's been tough, no running away from that," he said. "But we know how passionate our owner is about the game, and we want to do it for him and our fans." Pant confirmed two changes to his lineup, bringing in Josh Inglis and Akshat Raghuwanshi, while keeping his bowling options open for later.

Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Ryan Rickelton (wk), Naman Dhir, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Will Jacks, Raj Bawa, Corbin Bosch, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, AM Ghazanfar, Raghu Sharma. Impact Players available: Rohit Sharma, Mayank Rawat, Robin Minz, Shardul Thakur, Trent Boult.

Lucknow Super Giants Playing XI: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (c/wk), Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh, Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav. Impact Players available: Manimaran Siddharth, Digvesh Singh, Mayank Yadav, Shahbaz Ahamad, Abdul Samad.

With both teams desperate for a turnaround, this Wankhede showdown promises to be a high-stakes affair. Can MI's return of Rohit spark a revival, or will LSG's fresh faces make the difference? All eyes are on Mumbai tonight.
