In a thrilling showdown at ABS Park, the Missoula Hellgate Knights delivered a powerful statement, overpowering the Flathead Braves with an 11-6 victory on Thursday. The game was a showcase of explosive offense and gritty determination, with both teams battling hard from the first pitch.

The Knights wasted no time setting the tone. In the opening inning, Owen Felton crushed a two-run homer that ignited a four-run rally, giving Hellgate an early lead they would never relinquish. Felton’s blast not only energized his teammates but also set the stage for a relentless offensive attack.

Flathead, however, refused to back down. In the third inning, Hunter Fann delivered a clutch double to right field, driving in two runs and cutting into the deficit. Fischer Lee followed suit in the fourth with an RBI single, narrowing the score to 5-3 and keeping the Braves within striking distance.

But the Knights had an answer for every Braves rally. In the sixth inning, Seamus Kane stepped up with a two-RBI single, extending Hellgate’s lead to 8-3. Then, in the seventh, Dillon Daniel added insurance with a two-run double, pushing the advantage to 11-3 and putting the game out of reach.

Flathead showed fight in the bottom of the seventh, as Eli Coopman and Micah Engle each drove in runs to make it 11-6, but it was too little, too late. The Braves’ comeback effort fell short against a Knights squad that seemed determined to leave no doubt.

On the mound, Flathead’s Liam Rech turned in a solid performance, tossing 4 2/3 innings while allowing just two earned runs on five hits and striking out eight. For Hellgate, Seamus Kane went 4 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on nine hits with three strikeouts, earning the win in a hard-fought outing.

Key contributors for the Knights included Owen Felton (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBIs), Dillon Daniel (2-for-5, two doubles, 2 RBIs), and Seamus Kane (1-for-3, 2 RBIs). For Flathead, Hunter Fann (2-for-4, double, 2 RBIs) and Micah Engle (2-for-4) led the way offensively.

The victory improves Hellgate to 5-10 overall and 2-7 in conference play, while Flathead falls to 7-12 and 3-6. Both teams will look to build on this experience as the season progresses, with the Knights proving they have the firepower to compete with anyone on any given day. For fans of hard-hitting baseball, this game was a reminder of why every pitch, every swing, and every play matters.
