Hannah Stuelke has capped off an incredible senior season with a well-deserved honor: the University of Iowa's Women's Athlete of the Year. The award was presented at the athletic department's 10th annual Golden Herky ceremony, celebrating the standout forward's remarkable contributions to Hawkeyes basketball.
The 6-foot-2 Cedar Rapids native delivered a stellar final campaign, averaging 13.4 points per game on an impressive 55.4% shooting from the field. But it was her work on the boards that truly stood out—Stuelke led the team with 9.0 rebounds per game this past season, showcasing her relentless hustle and court presence.
Stuelke's four-year Hawkeyes career was nothing short of historic. She finished with 1,565 points (14th all-time in school history) and 910 rebounds (fifth all-time), making her just the fourth player in program history to eclipse both the 1,500-point and 900-rebound milestones. Her consistency earned her three second-team All-Big Ten selections, and she was named the 2023 Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year as a true freshman.
The accolades didn't stop there. Following the 2025-26 season, Stuelke was recognized as a WBCA honorable mention All-American, further cementing her legacy as one of Iowa's all-time greats.
For fans looking to channel their inner Hawkeye, Stuelke's journey is a reminder of what hard work and dedication can achieve. Whether you're hitting the court or just repping your team, her story inspires us to bring our best game every day.
In other Hawkeyes women's basketball honors, guard Kylie Feuerbach was named Women's Hawkeye of the Year, and junior center Ava Heiden took home the Women's Breakthrough Athlete award—proving that Iowa's future is as bright as its past.
