Hailey Van Lith is already making headlines with a new chapter in her WNBA journey. Just two days after being waived by the Chicago Sky, the dynamic guard has found a fresh start with the Connecticut Sun, who awarded her via a waiver claim and signed her to a developmental contract.

The 5-foot-9 guard, selected as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, spent her rookie season with the Sky, appearing in 29 games and averaging 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. But it was during Chicago's preseason slate this year that Van Lith truly turned heads, averaging 12.5 points on an impressive 71.4% shooting, along with 4.5 assists across two games. On April 25, she delivered a standout performance, scoring 20 points against the Phoenix Mercury while shooting a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor—a glimpse of the offensive spark she brings to the court.

Van Lith isn't the only new face in Connecticut. The Sun also signed former Golden State Valkyries guard Ashlon Jackson to a developmental contract. Jackson, the No. 23 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, adds depth to a roster that's clearly focused on building for the future.

As a developmental player, Van Lith will be able to participate in all practices and training activities with the Sun. She can also be activated for up to 12 games this season, giving her valuable opportunities to contribute and grow within the team's system. For a player with her college pedigree and recent preseason flashes, this could be the perfect platform to reignite her professional career.
