Borussia Dortmund ended their Bundesliga season on a high note, securing a commanding 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen on the road. The win, powered by second-half strikes from Serhou Guirassy and Yan Couto, propelled Niko Kovač's squad to 73 points—their best tally since the 2018/19 campaign.

From the opening whistle, a full-strength Dortmund side showed no signs of easing up, even with the season winding down. The visitors applied relentless pressure in the first seven minutes, with Guirassy and Samuele Inácio testing Werder Bremen goalkeeper Mio Backhaus, who pulled off three sharp saves to keep the score level.

Julian Ryerson and Guirassy nearly connected for another trademark combination, but the striker's header drifted wide. Bremen thought they had broken the deadlock in the 28th minute when Amos Pieper turned home a Cameron Puertas free-kick, only for the offside flag to cut the celebration short. Just before halftime, former BVB winger Justin Njinmah used his blistering pace to race past Nico Schlotterbeck, but his volley missed the target, leaving the match scoreless at the break.

The second half mirrored the first, with Dortmund creating a flurry of chances. Inácio's clever vision from open play and a Daniel Svensson corner both found Guirassy, yet the Guinean forward continued to be denied by an inspired Backhaus. The breakthrough finally came in the 59th minute: Ryerson delivered a pinpoint cross, and Guirassy muscled past Friedl to power a header into the near post.

Both managers turned to their benches as the match opened up. Carney Chukwuemeka and Julian Brandt—making his final BVB appearance—entered the fray, while Bremen introduced Samuel Mbangula and Patrice Covic. The hosts thought they had equalized late on when Karim Coulibaly scored from close range, but VAR ruled him narrowly offside. Mbangula then forced Gregor Kobel into a sharp save at the near post, but the equalizer never materialized.

In injury time, Karim Adeyemi set up Yan Couto to seal the win with Dortmund's second goal. The afternoon also featured emotional farewells for several players, marking the end of an era as the Black and Yellows closed out a memorable campaign in style.
