Pep Guardiola has issued a resounding vote of confidence in Phil Foden, insisting the Manchester City star will rediscover his best form sooner rather than later.

While Foden has experienced a challenging second half of the season following a bright start before Christmas, Guardiola remains unwavering in his belief in the 25-year-old's abilities. The Academy graduate, already one of the most decorated players in English football history with 19 major honors, is only two seasons removed from being voted Premier League Player of the Season and PFA Player of the Year after a standout campaign in his sixth title triumph.

"I said many times, there's no doubts about Phil and his impact," Guardiola stated in Friday's press conference ahead of City's clash with Brentford. "He's a homegrown player from the Academy who's been massively important in our seasons together. I wish from the bottom of my heart he can come back and play his best years with us and help to continue the team to be what it deserves to be."

Foden made a late substitute appearance in Monday's dramatic comeback draw at Everton, entering the fray as City trailed 3-1 before helping spark a two-goal recovery to snatch a point. Guardiola was particularly encouraged by what he saw in that brief cameo.

"He had good minutes and movements against Everton," the boss explained. "We talk about it. Phil, what is your biggest quality as a player? Turn and go and attack the box, don't lose that. He is not a player to control the game. Your quality is being a machine to attack the ball with a sense of assist and goals. It happened two or three times against Everton in a tough moment when we were one or two down, it's not easy but he did really well."

Drawing inspiration from club captain Kyle Walker's own resurgence, Guardiola reminded the Stockport-born playmaker that there's still plenty of time to return to the form that defined his historic successes. For City fans, the message is clear: Foden's best days are far from behind him, and a return to his electrifying best could be just around the corner.
