April 28 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Guardians will call up top prospect Travis Bazzana for Tuesday's game with the Tampa Bay Rays, a league source told UPI.

The Australian also recorded three hits, including a home run, during the World Baseball Classic.

Bazzana, 23, is the No. 16 prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. He earned the Cape Cod League batting title and MVP honors in 2023, when he hit .375 with six doubles, six home runs, two triples, 31 RBIs and 14 stolen bases for the Falmouth Commodores.

The 5-foot-11, 199-pound infielder hit .360 with 52 doubles, 45 home runs, 11 triples, 165 RBIs and 66 stolen bases over three seasons at Oregon State.

That tenure ended with a stellar 2024 campaign in which he hit .407 with a school-record 28 home runs. Bazzana also hit 16 double and four triples, with 66 RBIs and 16 steals that season.

He hit .252 with 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and 25 stolen bases over 135 minor league appearances.

The Guardians (15-15) sit in second place in the American League Central, one-half game behind the Detroit Tigers (15-14). They will host the Rays (17-11) at 6:10 p.m. EDT Tuesday in Cleveland.
