The Green Bay Packers have parted ways with veteran kicker Brandon McManus, according to a source familiar with the move. The decision, confirmed on Friday, marks the end of McManus's two-year stint with the team.

McManus, a 12-year NFL veteran, joined the Packers in 2024 and signed a three-year, $15.3 million extension the following year. However, his performance last season left room for improvement—he connected on 24 of 30 field goal attempts (80%) across 14 appearances. While reliable in stretches, the Packers' front office opted to look toward the future.

The move comes after Green Bay selected former Florida Gators kicker Trey Smack in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Smack brings a strong collegiate résumé, having made 82.8% of his field goals (53 of 64) during his time in Gainesville. The Packers also added kicker Lucas Havrisik via a futures contract in January, signaling a full competition for the starting job this offseason.

For fans tracking the team's roster moves, the Packers are set to kick off organized team activities on May 26, followed by mandatory minicamp from June 9 to 11. It will be a critical stretch for Smack and Havrisik to prove their mettle under the Lambeau Field lights.

Whether you're a die-hard Packers fan or just love the game, stay tuned—special teams battles like this often define a season. And don't forget to gear up in your favorite team apparel as we count down to kickoff!
