WHITE PLAINS — It was a day of triumph, grit, and personal bests at the 58th Loucks Games, where local athletes turned in standout performances that had the crowd on their feet.

Horace Greeley junior Ryan Sykes delivered the headline moment, winning the boys 3,200-meter run with a stunning personal-best time of 8:51.52—shaving two seconds off his previous mark. What made the feat even more remarkable? Sykes had just finished two college Advanced Placement exams earlier in the day, in history and macroeconomics, before stepping to the starting line.

"The timing was not ideal," Sykes admitted. "I told myself to try to do my best." With 28 competitors in the field and eight grueling laps ahead, he did exactly that, crossing the finish line first in a race that showcased both mental and physical endurance.

The Loucks Games, a storied track and field event now in its 58th year, brought together top talent from across the region. Sleepy Hollow's Dariel Llitera Picardo soared to victory in the long jump, while Hen Hud's Chloe Howard claimed the win in the racewalk, adding to the day's excitement.

From the 200-meter dashes to the distance events, the energy at White Plains High School was electric. Athletes like Scarsdale's Labrowne Brown and Nyack's Asa Signorile pushed through the prelims, while Hen Hud's Sophia Savatgy and Nyack's Jayda Johnson kept the competition fierce on the track.

For those who live for the thrill of the race—and the gear that helps you run it—this year's Loucks Games was a reminder that every second counts, and every stride can lead to a new personal best. Whether you're chasing a PR or just starting your journey, the right performance apparel can make all the difference.
