Detroit — Center Nate Danielson has been out since Feb. 18 with a lower-body injury and there's no concrete plan for Danielson returning for the AHL playoffs.

Danielson played 28 games with the Wings after being recalled early in the season but was returned to Grand Rapids in January. Several weeks later Danielson was forced out of the lineup with an injury that has kept him out ever since.

"There's a possibility if the team (Griffins) went deep (in the playoffs) that we might see him return," general manager Steve Yzerman said. "But he's dealing with a lower-body injury that ultimately needs simply time and rest and let things heal. Is it possible he could come back? Maybe. But my anticipation, or expectation, at this stage is he continue to rest and rehab. He's improving and is he cleared to play prior to the end of this season? Maybe.

"But we expect him to be 100% healthy for September."

Danielson had 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 18 games with Grand Rapids.
