There have been some very surprising picks made in the 2026 NFL Draft. Some players fell, some were taken way too early. In the case of the Minnesota Vikings, who took Caleb Banks, defensive tackle out of Florida, with the 18th overall pick.
While the Vikings did have a massive hole on the interior of the defensive line, questions surrounding his medicals will linger all offseason, and whether he will be healthy for 2026.
In terms of handing out a grade, it will be difficult to do so solely because of the foot injury history. Foot injuries for defensive tackles aren't typically a recipe for success, but if he can knock it and play healthy for 2026, this could be a great pick.
Clearly, the Minnesota Vikings have faith in his medicals, and they will know more than we will. Given what we know, the Vikings get a C+.
