FC Internazionale Milano and the entire Nerazzurri family are united in grief as we bid farewell to Evaristo Beccalossi, a true icon of the beautiful game. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.

It feels impossible to accept that he's gone. In our memories and in our daily thoughts, Evaristo was always there—indescribable, much like his mesmerizing dribbles, and unique, just like his masterful ball control. Talent, after all, cannot be taught; it is a gift that can only be nurtured. And Beccalossi's talent was pure magic.

Consider this: he was naturally right-footed, but from a young age, he trained his left foot relentlessly in his garage at home. That stubborn determination turned him into an ambidextrous wizard, equally magical with both feet. Though his brilliance could sometimes be inconsistent from match to match, his teammates and fans adored him for it. That was the charm of a true fantasista.

Gianni Brera famously nicknamed him "Driblossi" for his audacious art of dribbling. He beat opponents with a lightness that made it look effortless, bringing beauty and romance to football. With his curls flowing over his shoulders and his unmistakable stride across the pitch, he didn't just kick the ball—he caressed it. As Peppino Prisco once said, "He didn't play with the ball; the ball played with him. He didn't kick it, but caressed it, filling it with affection."

Those caresses were countless during his years in Nerazzurri colours from 1978 to 1984, and beyond. Even after his playing days, he stayed close to Inter, working with the Federation and inspiring younger generations. A fantasista on and off the pitch.

Right foot, left foot, goals, and vision—Beccalossi fed the likes of Oriali, Marini, and Baresi, scoring and assisting with equal flair. He once joked, "When I arrived at San Siro, my teammates didn't know if they'd be playing with ten or twelve—it depended entirely on me."

Wearing the iconic number 10, he joined Inter from his hometown club Brescia in 1978 and was immediately embraced by the Meazza crowd. The legendary Sandro Mazzola, his predecessor as No.10 and then a club director, tipped off the club after a match that showcased his extraordinary talent. That moment marked the beginning of a legacy that will forever inspire every football fan who loves the art of the game.
