Odessa's own Rinah Lewis has struck gold on the international stage! Competing over the weekend at the massive 2026 Jiu Jitsu Thailand Championships in Bangkok, Lewis delivered a dominant performance, capturing gold medals in two separate events.

What makes her victory even more impressive is that she did it as a solo act. Lewis represented both the United States and her home gym, Odessa's Vagabond Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as a team of one against a field of over 2,500 athletes in the country's premier tournament.

This kind of individual triumph requires immense mental fortitude and technical skill, hallmarks of a true champion. According to her parents, Ronnie and Ann Lewis, this is just the beginning. Rinah has already set her sights on returning next year to defend her hard-earned titles, showcasing the relentless drive shared by so many elite martial artists.
