Swindon Town have extended the contract of goalkeeper Lewis Ward until the summer of 2027.

Swindon Town fans have reason to celebrate as the club locks down a key figure between the posts. Goalkeeper Lewis Ward has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the County Ground through the summer of 2027, securing his services for the foreseeable future.

The League Two side exercised an option in the 29-year-old's existing deal, adding an extra 12 months to his tenure. Ward, who returned to Swindon for a third spell last summer, has been a reliable presence even when not in the starting XI. Serving as understudy to Connor Ripley—who played every league match for the Robins this season—Ward still made his mark when called upon.

In total, the former Exeter City shot-stopper made six appearances across all competitions, with five of those coming in the EFL Trophy. He kept two clean sheets in those outings, proving his worth as a dependable backup.

Manager Ian Holloway didn't hold back in his praise for Ward's professionalism. "Lewis is exactly the type of person you want at your football club," Holloway told the club website. "His attitude every single day is first-class, and even when opportunities have been limited, he's continued to work hard, support his teammates, and stay ready whenever he's needed."

For a goalkeeper, consistency and patience are key—and Ward's commitment mirrors the dedication we see in our top-performing goalkeeper gloves and training gear. Whether you're a starter or a squad player, staying prepared is what separates the good from the great.
