Gloucestershire have bolstered their bowling attack ahead of a crucial stretch in the County Championship, securing the services of Middlesex seamer Henry Brookes on a five-match loan deal.

The 26-year-old fast bowler will be available for a demanding schedule of fixtures, including home clashes against Durham, Lancashire, Kent, and Northamptonshire, plus an away trip to face Derbyshire. This move is a strategic play to manage workload during a packed period of red-ball cricket.

Gloucestershire's director of cricket, Jon Lewis, highlighted the tactical thinking behind the signing: "We spoke a lot about using the loan market to supplement the bowlers we already have and help us through a busy Championship period. Henry will be with us until the start of the Vitality Blast, and we're delighted to have him on board."

Brookes brings valuable experience to the Gloucestershire seam attack. After beginning his career with Warwickshire as an 18-year-old, he moved to Middlesex in 2024 and has since taken 33 first-class wickets in 14 matches for the county, demonstrating his ability to make breakthroughs at the domestic level.
