Glacier High School's tennis team delivered a commanding performance Thursday, sweeping both the boys' and girls' matches against Flathead at FVCC in a dual that was rescheduled after lightning forced a postponement on May 7.
Colton Mantovani set the tone for the Glacier boys, who secured an 8-0 victory without dropping a single set all day. Mantovani powered past Rowan Alexander with a decisive 6-0, 6-3 win in singles action. The doubles team of Josh Klippenstein and Axel Rauscher was equally dominant, blanking Daniel Bessen and Brooks Munday 6-0, 6-0.
On the girls' side, Leilani Lennarz led the charge with a straight-sets triumph over Sarah Loran, 6-1, 6-2. The Wolfpack girls' doubles pairs were particularly impressive, as both Miley Fritz and Reid Sanders, along with Quinn Berkram and Amelia Bender, posted flawless 6-0, 6-0 victories to help secure the sweep.
Flathead's Sienna Blanchard provided the lone bright spot for the Bravettes, grinding out a hard-fought 6-2, 6-3 win over Adilynn Lister in singles play. But it wasn't enough to slow the Glacier momentum, as the Wolfpack won 7 of 8 girls' matches and all 8 boys' matches.
Both teams now hit the road Friday for a challenging doubleheader against Bozeman and Gallatin. With this dominant performance under their belts, Glacier looks poised to carry that confidence into their next contests.
For tennis fans and athletes alike, matches like these showcase the importance of consistency and mental toughness—qualities that translate well to any court, whether you're competing or just enjoying the game in your favorite gear.
