Allen brings valuable experience as a reliable backup, most notably stepping in for the Bengals during the 2020 season after rookie phenom Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending knee injury. He started five games that year, helping steady the offense, and saw action in six more games during Cincinnati's 2021 Super Bowl run.

His career journey includes starting three games for the Denver Broncos in 2019 and brief stops with the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans. With this signing, Allen becomes the third quarterback on the Giants' depth chart, joining Jaxson Dart and veteran Jameis Winston, providing crucial depth and a trusted voice for the coaching staff.
