The New York Giants have added the cornerback they need in the 2026 NFL draft.

The Giants have selected Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood with the No. 37 overall pick, which comes on Day 2.

This amounts to great value for the Giants, as Hood was widely viewed as a Round 1 pick by many projections during the pre-draft process.

Adding to his value, Hood gives the Giants options on how to deploy him.

Hood figures to be a boundary cornerback at the next level, which is good news because the Giants needed a replacement for Cor'Dale Flott.

However, Hood bring some versatility with him and could be deployed in the slot if needed, although the Giants have Dru Phillips for that role.

Hood plays with great physicality, both on the boundary and in the box, and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty in the run game and take on big backs.

The Tennessee product's speed allows him to hang with faster wide receivers, making it difficult to beat him downfield.

Hood's stiffest competition for a starting job in Year 1 will be veteran Greg Newsome. There is absolutely a path for him to be a starter in Week 1.
