New York Giants OL Jermaine Eluemunor says Francis Mauigoa must hit the ground running: "Get with it or get left behind."

The New York Giants shook up their offensive line this offseason, selecting Miami tackle Francis Mauigoa with the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The towering rookie—affectionately known as "Sisi," standing at 6-foot-5 and nearly 330 pounds—was widely regarded as the best tackle in the class. But don't expect to see him lining up at his college position just yet.

The Giants have a clear plan: move Mauigoa inside to guard. With All-Pro caliber tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor already anchoring the edges, and second-year riser Marcus Mbow waiting in the wings, the team is taking a long-term approach. For now, Sisi will slot in at right guard, right next to Eluemunor, learning the ropes from one of the league's most reliable veterans.

Eluemunor is coming off a near-Pro Bowl season in 2025, and the Giants made sure he stayed put this spring, locking him up with a three-year, $39 million deal that keeps him in Blue through 2028. He's already been in touch with the rookie multiple times since draft night, and they'll finally meet in person this week when the Giants' rookies report for minicamp on Friday.

"In the next week, I'll be with him just trying to teach him what I know and make things a lot smoother for him," Eluemunor told The New York Post. But the veteran wasn't shy about setting expectations: "He's got to hit the ground running. Get with it or get left behind."

It's a classic NFL reality check for a promising rookie—and a message that echoes through every training camp. For Giants fans, the sight of Eluemunor mentoring Mauigoa could be the foundation of a dominant interior line for years to come. And for anyone gearing up for game day, that kind of chemistry is exactly what you want to see—and wear—on your favorite team gear.
