There are several Georgia football transfers that are candidates to be a high draft pick in the 2027 NFL draft

The Georgia Bulldogs are no strangers to producing NFL talent, and the trend continues with another former Bulldog transfer projected to make noise in the 2027 NFL Draft. After Carson Beck—who transferred from Georgia to Miami for his final season—went in the third round to the Arizona Cardinals in 2026, the spotlight now shifts to a dynamic pass rusher with even higher potential.

Pro Football Focus predicts that Damon Wilson, a former Georgia edge rusher who spent the 2025 season at Missouri before transferring to Miami, could be selected as high as the No. 31 overall pick. That would land him with the Buffalo Bills and mark a significant jump from Beck's third-round selection.

Wilson, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 250 pounds, turned heads during his breakout season with the Tigers. He recorded nine sacks, 23 tackles, and an interception in 2025—numbers that have scouts buzzing about his pass-rushing ability. Now at Miami, he's stepping into big shoes after Hurricanes defensive linemen Akheem Mesidor and Rueben Bain Jr. both went in the first round of the 2026 draft.

While PFF notes some concerns about Wilson's run defense, they emphasize that his "pass-rushing production is undeniable," pointing to his 54 pressures and eight sacks last season. Of course, a lot can change between now and draft day, and Wilson will need to prove himself on the field to lock in that first-round status.

Wilson isn't the only former Georgia standout with first-round aspirations. Oregon defensive tackle Bear Alexander and Indiana cornerback AJ Harris are also in the conversation for 2027. For now, all eyes are on Wilson as he looks to build on an already impressive college career and continue Georgia's legacy of producing top-tier NFL talent.

For fans tracking the next wave of stars, this is a name to remember—and a reminder that the pipeline from Athens to the pros is as strong as ever.
