Georgia football is already stacking up talent for the future, and the tight end position just got a major boost. The Bulldogs secured a commitment from five-star 2027 tight end Jaxon Dollar on Thursday, adding a third five-star prospect to their recruiting class.

Dollar, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound standout from East Lincoln High School in Dallas, North Carolina, chose Georgia over Notre Dame and Miami in an announcement on CBS Sports HQ. His high school coach, David Lubowicz, didn't hold back in his praise, calling Dollar "kind of a freak" physically. "He's really explosive," Lubowicz told the Athens Banner-Herald. "He's an explosive athlete that has really soft hands and does a good job on contested balls. I don't know if I've ever not seen him catch a 50-50 ball."

Dollar's journey to becoming a top recruit has been a steady climb. Coming from a family of athletes—both his older brothers played basketball and football at the same school—Dollar has developed a sharp understanding of the game. "He understands what he needs to do and when he needs to do it," Lubowicz added. "He gets situational basketball and he gets situational football."

Rated as the nation's No. 2 tight end and No. 33 overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite, Dollar joins running back Kemon Spell and cornerback Donte Wright as the third five-star commitment in Georgia's 2027 class. His versatility is a key asset—he's been used in-line, as an H-back, in the slot, and in trips formations, showcasing the kind of flexibility that modern offenses crave.

Last season, Dollar put up impressive numbers: 54 catches for 1,190 yards and 20 touchdowns. His decision came down to how schools utilize their tight ends, who would develop him, and their track record of production at the position. For Georgia, which wrapped up spring practices looking deep at tight end, this commitment signals a bright future ahead.
