Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Daylen Everette has been drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everette was selected with the 85th overall pick in the third round. Steelers fans were fired up after hearing Everette's name called as the draft is being hosted in Pittsburgh.
Everette was a key contributor in the Georgia secondary from 2022-2025. The talented defensive back played a role in the Dawgs’ 2022 national championship run, as Everette will look to pick up right where he left off at Georgia throughout his rookie campaign in Pittsburgh. Everette recorded 50 total tackles, one interception and 10 pass deflections during his final season in Athens, as the star DB had one of his best seasons throughout his final year at Georgia.
Everette was widely regarded as a third- or fourth-round selection in the NFL draft prior to being selected by the Steelers. The athletic defensive back could be one of the sleeper picks of the draft, as Everette is a prime candidate to be a difference maker during his rookie campaign in the NFL. The 6-foot-1, 196 pound defensive back has elite NFL potential following a brilliant four year career at Georgia, as Everette will look to shine throughout his rookie year with the Steelers.
Georgia has seen various playmakers selected in the opening rounds of the NFL draft this year. Star LB CJ Allen was drafted with the 53rd overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts, while OL Monroe Freeling was drafted with the 19th overall pick by the Carolina Panthers.
