Updated SEC baseball standings and the Georgia Bulldogs swept the LSU Tigers to clinch an SEC regular season title

The Georgia Bulldogs have officially claimed the No. 1 spot in the updated SEC baseball standings after a decisive sweep of the LSU Tigers over the weekend. This victory not only secures Georgia an SEC regular season championship but also locks in the top seed for the upcoming SEC Tournament—a huge momentum boost as the postseason approaches.

With the regular season winding down, the race for the top spots is heating up. Alongside Georgia, three other teams will earn coveted double byes in the tournament. Texas and Texas A&M currently hold a slim half-game lead over Auburn and Alabama, who are all vying for a top-four finish. Meanwhile, Mississippi State, Florida, and Arkansas trail by just 1.5 games, keeping their hopes for a top-four seed alive.

This past weekend brought plenty of drama across the conference. Tennessee delivered a statement with a 2-1 home series win over Texas, while Alabama swept South Carolina on the road to strengthen their tournament path. Missouri pulled off a rare SEC series victory against Vanderbilt, and Arkansas took two games at home over Oklahoma, though the Sooners avoided the sweep with a 15-10 win in Game 3.

Texas A&M managed to salvage one game in their road series at Ole Miss, but both they and Texas missed their chance to clinch the SEC title. Auburn impressed with a convincing road series win at Mississippi State, capped by a 13-2 blowout on Saturday. Florida also came through in a decisive Game 3 against Kentucky to win their series 2-1.

The top eight teams in the SEC will receive first-round byes in the tournament, with the top four seeds earning an additional bye into the second round. The final regular season series for all SEC teams takes place this upcoming weekend, and there's plenty at stake—teams are jockeying for better seeding and hoping to boost their NCAA Tournament chances.

Mark your calendars: the SEC Baseball Tournament will be held in Hoover, Alabama, from May 19-24. It's shaping up to be a thrilling finish to an already action-packed season.
