The Georgia basketball chapter for Jake Wilkins, son of NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, appears to be closing after just one season. The freshman guard announced via social media that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Wilkins, a 6-foot-9 forward, showed flashes of his famous father's athleticism during his debut campaign, throwing down an impressive 20 dunks. However, his role remained limited on a Bulldogs squad that reached the NCAA Tournament, averaging 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game.
His departure adds to a significant roster shift in Athens. Despite the potential for increased playing time following the exit of three starters, Wilkins becomes the sixth Georgia player to enter the portal this offseason, seeking a new opportunity to showcase his high-flying potential.
