In a moment that will forever be etched in Caddo Mills High School history, Kinzli George has done something only two other girls have ever accomplished: she made it to the state tennis tournament.
Before this season, the Caddo Mills girls' tennis program had just two athletes advance to the UIL state level. Now, make it three. George earned her spot in the Class 4A state meet in San Antonio by reaching the Region II girls singles championship on April 20.
Though she finished as the regional runner-up, taking home a silver medal, the real prize was the ticket to state—a dream that kept her training hard and focused all season long.
Once in San Antonio, George faced a grueling test in her opening match against Travis High School's Alexandra Gomez. The two battled through a marathon three-hour match, with every point a testament to their grit and determination.
In the end, George's season came to a heart-stopping close as she narrowly lost to Gomez in three hard-fought sets. But her legacy is already written: she is now part of an elite group of Caddo Mills tennis legends, proving that with passion and perseverance, history is there for the making.
