In a fiery Serie A clash that had everything—drama, controversy, and a stunning comeback—Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini delivered a sarcastic response to Parma's protests over a late penalty, quipping, "Carlos Cuesta is right."

The Giallorossi pulled off a remarkable 3-2 victory at the Stadio Tardini on Sunday, scoring twice in stoppage time to snatch all three points. Donyell Malen's 101st-minute penalty sealed the win, lifting Roma level with Milan in fourth place on 67 points with just two games left in the season.

But the late spot-kick didn't sit well with Parma boss Carlos Cuesta, who didn't hold back in his post-match interviews. "I think what happened is obvious; the whole stadium and all of Italy saw it. Parma deserve respect," the Spaniard told DAZN, as reported by Gazzetta.

Gasperini, never one to shy away from a bit of needle, fired back with a wry smile in his press conference. "There are the images; the whole of Italy will see them. Cuesta is right. They all seem very clear to me," the Roma boss said. "I understand the disappointment of losing in stoppage time. They played with extraordinary spirit, and that's good for the league. Winning for us is a great source of satisfaction. We had many chances, and Suzuki was outstanding. The numbers speak for themselves, as do the incidents. It would have been a cruel blow to lose this match, so I understand the bitterness."

The controversy stemmed from a tangle between Parma's Sascha Britschgi and Roma's Devyne Rensch, who went down in the box after a mutual shirt pull. Referee Daniele Chiffi initially waved play on, but after a pitchside VAR review, he pointed to the spot—a decision that left the home crowd and Cuesta fuming.

Gasperini was so on edge that he couldn't bear to watch Malen's penalty, turning away before the Dutchman coolly slotted home. The Roma bench erupted in celebration, capping off a whirlwind finish that kept their Champions League hopes alive. For fans and neutrals alike, it was a reminder that in Serie A, the drama is never far away—especially when tempers flare and the stakes are this high.
