The last series of the road trip starts tonight

The White Sox are hitting the road for the final leg of their West Coast trip, kicking off a series tonight against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. Chicago comes in with some momentum after taking a series win against the Padres, while the Angels are struggling to find their footing with a 13-22 record.

This marks the second and last meeting between these two teams this season, and the White Sox will be looking to replicate their success from last week, when they swept the Angels at home. It's a chance for Chicago to build on their 16-18 start and prove they can handle business on the road.

In roster news, the White Sox have added some outfield depth by signing Randal Grichuk to a one-year, $1.25 million contract. On the flip side, Austin Hays has landed back on the injured list with a left calf strain, retroactive to May 2, and Tanner Murray has been moved to the 60-day IL after shoulder surgery.

On the mound tonight, the White Sox will send Davis Martin to the hill. Martin has been outstanding this season, posting a 4-1 record with 33 strikeouts and a sparkling 1.95 ERA over 37 innings. He'll be backed by a lineup led by leadoff hitter Sam Antonacci and catcher Drew Romo.

The Angels counter with right-hander José Soriano, who just earned American League Pitcher of the Month honors. Soriano is off to a historic start—he's only the third pitcher ever to finish April with at least five wins, 49 strikeouts, and an ERA below 1.00, joining Randy Johnson (2000) and Jered Weaver (2011). That's elite company, and the White Sox will have their hands full.

First pitch is set for 8:38 p.m. CT. You can catch the action on CHSN or tune in on ESPN Chicago 1000. It's a late one, but it should be a great matchup between two teams with very different vibes right now.
