Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth: What Iraola said

Bournemouth have won three consecutive matches against Fulham for the first time since October 2018, doing the league double over the Cottagers for the first time in the Premier League, last doing so in 2014-15 in the Championship. Only Liverpool in 1994-95 (23), 1997-98 (18) and 1998-99 (18) have scored more goals via teenagers in a Premier League season than Bournemouth this term (17). Through Junior Kroupi (in October) and Rayan today, Bournemouth are the first team in Premier League history to have two different teenagers score in three consecutive games in the same season.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola was full of praise for his squad after they secured a historic 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage. "It's a team with spirit," Iraola told BBC Match of the Day. "As a coach, it's so easy with this group—they make my work a lot easier. The players are in a really good place."

This win marks a significant milestone for the Cherries. They have now won three consecutive matches against Fulham for the first time since October 2018, completing the league double over the Cottagers for the first time in the Premier League era. The last time they achieved this feat was in the 2014-15 Championship season.

Bournemouth's youthful energy continues to shine. With 17 goals scored by teenagers this Premier League season, they trail only Liverpool's historic campaigns from 1994-95 (23 goals), 1997-98 (18), and 1998-99 (18). Even more impressive, Junior Kroupi (scoring in October) and Rayan (today) have made Bournemouth the first team in Premier League history to have two different teenagers score in three consecutive games during the same season.

Iraola, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season, reflected on the strong bond within the squad. "We have such a good relationship with the players and the club. The process has been so clear and honest. Everyone knows what will happen next season. We are fighting to have this reward—you have to win a lot of points to get into Europe."

When asked about his future, the Basque coach remained focused on the present. "I don't know. I have no rush to make decisions. I'm so focused on these last two games. It's massive for me personally to finish these beautiful three years in a lovely way. Then we'll have time."

He credited the team's chemistry for their success. "The new players have adapted quickly. The ones with us three seasons—they know what we need from every game. We know each other. This core group of 10, 12 players who have been here three seasons have helped us massively—and the new players also. Today was a very important step forward, but we still have to get more points."

For fans and players alike, this victory is a testament to the club's growing ambition. As Bournemouth push for a European spot, every point counts—and with their young stars making history, the future looks bright.
