The No. 7 Florida State softball team is on an absolute tear. With an impressive 46-8 overall record and a dominant 21-3 mark in conference play, the Seminoles have won nine of their last ten games. They're charging into the ACC Tournament with serious momentum, and two of their standout stars are leading the charge.
After a near-perfect weekend against Boston College, pitcher Jazzy Francik was named ACC Pitcher of the Week. She was virtually unhittable, tossing her third no-hitter of the season and finishing the series unbeaten. Over 11.0 innings, Francik allowed zero runs and just two hits, walking only one batter while holding opponents to a microscopic .057 batting average. For the season, she boasts a 1.85 ERA and a stellar 20-2 record, proving she's a force on the mound against the nation's best.
Not to be outdone, slugger Jaysoni Beachum claimed ACC Player of the Week honors with video-game-like numbers. She hit an incredible .667, crushing four doubles, a home run, and driving in five runs. Beachum has now reached base in 42 consecutive games, a streak that shows no signs of slowing down.
Florida State heads to Charlottesville for the ACC Tournament, where they'll face either Georgia Tech or Notre Dame on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET on the ACC Network. With Francik dealing and Beachum raking, the Seminoles look ready to make a deep postseason run.
