Florida State men's basketball has landed a commitment from Wake Forest transfer forward Cooper Schwieger.
The 6-foot-10 big man comes to the Seminoles program after a season at Wake Forest and two years at Valparaiso. Schwieger averaged 5.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 20 blocks in 20 minutes per game for the Demon Deacons.
As a sophomore at Valparaiso, he averaged 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and was a highly recruited prospect when he entered the transfer portal. Wake Forest beat out programs like Kansas, Clemson, and Michigan for his commitment.
He's a versatile forward who gives the Seminoles flexibility. He can play center alongside Colorado transfer Sebastian Rancik, or the power forward role alongside incoming freshman Marcis Ponder.
He joins Rancik, Missouri guard Anthony Robinson II, UNC-Asheville guard Kameron Taylor and Cincinnati wing Shon Abaev in transferring to the program in the offseason. FSU will also bring in the nation's eighth-ranked recruiting class, led by Ponder.
Schwieger is expected to be the final major roster addition to the Seminoles roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.
