Jeremie Frimpong has opened up about the profound impact Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have had on him during his debut season at Liverpool, describing it as an "honour" to share a dressing room with two club icons before their summer departures.
The 25-year-old Dutch defender has faced a challenging first campaign at Anfield, battling injuries and inconsistent form. But despite those struggles, Frimpong has spoken warmly about how both senior players guided him behind the scenes.
"I'm really happy I was a part of them still being in Liverpool and obviously they're leaving next season," Frimpong told The Anfield Wrap, reflecting on the experience of playing alongside the departing legends.
The former Bayer Leverkusen star singled out Salah's influence in particular. "Mo, obviously playing alongside Mo, one of the best in football, so that was really nice for me to play with him."
Those comments echo what former manager Jurgen Klopp recently said about the Egyptian, calling it an "absolute honour" to work with him.
The scale of this summer's exodus cannot be overstated. Opta recently highlighted that Salah, Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson have combined for over 1,500 Liverpool appearances—more than the rest of the current squad put together.
Frimpong also revealed how both veterans helped younger players understand what it truly means to wear the Liverpool shirt. "They talk about Liverpool standards, what Liverpool's about, how amazing the fans are," he said, while acknowledging that the senior figures also made clear how demanding supporters can become during difficult moments.
For a player still finding his feet at Anfield, learning from two of the club's modern greats has clearly been invaluable—even if their departures mark the end of an era.
