Jeremie Frimpong has broken his silence on a challenging debut season at Anfield, insisting that Liverpool fans have only seen a glimpse of his true potential. The Dutch wing-back arrived from Bayer Leverkusen last summer carrying sky-high expectations after lighting up the Bundesliga under Xabi Alonso as one of Europe's most dynamic attacking full-backs. But recurring hamstring issues have derailed what was supposed to be a statement campaign.

Speaking candidly to The Anfield Wrap, Frimpong didn't shy away from the frustration. "A lot more. A lot more. I feel like I can do a lot more," he said, when asked what supporters can expect from him. "Obviously I've been injured most of the season, but I believe in myself and I know what I can do. So, I know I can bring a lot more, 100%."

There's no sugarcoating it: replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold was always going to be a monumental task, especially in a Liverpool side that has looked disjointed for large stretches this season. Former players have been quick to weigh in. Bolo Zenden noted that Frimpong is "more an attacker than a full-back," while Jan Molby questioned whether his game—beyond that electric pace—is truly suited to the Premier League's relentless demands.

Positional struggles have been evident too. At times, Frimpong has been deployed as a right winger, with Curtis Jones filling in at right-back—a tactical shuffle that underscores the ongoing search for balance. But the 25-year-old remains bullish about his future on Merseyside. "Of course I'm excited for the future. We're at Liverpool, you know, we compete for things," he said. "We have a great squad. Everyone's good, you know. There's competition everywhere."

For a player who made his name tearing down the flanks in Germany, this season has been a test of patience. But if his words are anything to go by, the best is yet to come. And for Liverpool fans—and anyone who loves a good comeback story—that's worth keeping an eye on.
