Tennessee basketball fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Freshman guard Troy Henderson, who entered the transfer portal just a day earlier, has announced he is returning to the Volunteers.
The promising young guard made the announcement on social media, signaling a quick change of heart that is a major win for Coach Rick Barnes and the program's backcourt depth heading into the offseason.
"After spending additional time speaking with my family, thinking further about my future and having a great conversation with Coach Barnes and the staff, I've realized there is no place I'd rather be than right here on Rocky Top," Henderson said in an Instagram post.
He added, "Vol Nation, I'm coming back! I can't wait to take the floor again in front of the best fans in the country. I'm so excited for all the big things to come here at Tennessee!"
This decision provides crucial stability for the Vols, keeping a talented piece of their future in Knoxville. Henderson's return means he'll be looking to make an even bigger impact in his sophomore season, a development that has the Tennessee faithful buzzing with anticipation for next year.
