The long-awaited all-British heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is finally set to become a reality after years of frustrating negotiations and endless speculation. This blockbuster clash, widely regarded as the biggest fight in modern British boxing history, is expected to take place later this year, with streaming giant Netflix strongly linked to handling global broadcast rights.

However, the promotional landscape for this mega-fight has already sparked controversy. UFC president Dana White recently claimed he would take charge of promoting the event during a livestream appearance ahead of UFC 328. White, who has been expanding his footprint in boxing through high-profile crossover events and the launch of Zuffa Boxing alongside Saudi investors, seemed poised to add another major chapter to his growing influence in the sport.

But veteran promoter Frank Warren, who represents Tyson Fury, was quick to shut down those claims. In a blunt response to Fight Hub TV, Warren dismissed White's statement as "b——s—," revealing that Fury's existing contract explicitly prevents Zuffa from promoting the fight. "He's not going to promote Fury vs. Joshua," Warren stated firmly.

Had White's involvement gone through, it would have marked a massive milestone for Zuffa Boxing, given that Fury vs. Joshua is considered one of the most lucrative events in combat sports. It also would have intensified White's ongoing rivalry with Eddie Hearn, who has guided Joshua's career from the start. White's Zuffa project continues to divide opinion in the boxing world, with critics questioning his plans to overhaul traditional aspects of the sport, including sanctioning bodies and promotional structures.

Despite the controversy, Zuffa Boxing is slowly gaining momentum. Several notable fighters have been linked to the promotion, including Shakur Stevenson, currently ranked as the world's third-best pound-for-pound boxer by The Ring. Stevenson, a four-weight world champion, is reportedly in negotiations with White's organization, signaling that the UFC boss is still actively pursuing major talent—even if the Fury-Joshua fight remains out of reach for now.
