Leicestershire County Cricket Club has strengthened their bowling attack by signing experienced fast bowler Tom Helm on a two-week loan from Middlesex.

The 31-year-old, who previously represented England Lions, brings a wealth of first-class experience to the Foxes. With 177 wickets in 65 matches at an impressive average of 32.08, Helm is no stranger to making an impact. His career-best figures of 6-110 came against Surrey in 2023, showcasing his ability to dismantle batting lineups.

Helm is immediately available for selection and could make his debut in Friday's crucial trip to Sussex. The timing couldn't be better for Leicestershire, who are still searching for their first win since earning promotion to Division One. After four matches, the Foxes have drawn two and lost two, leaving them eager to turn their season around.

"The club has been playing some really good cricket and there's a strong group here," Helm said. "I'm looking forward to contributing however I can and helping the team."

Head coach Alfonso Thomas is equally optimistic about the new addition, describing Helm as a "high-quality bowler" who provides "another strong option within our attack." The seamer has already featured once for Middlesex this summer, taking 2-77 in a draw against Northamptonshire.

As the Foxes look to climb the Division One table, Helm's experience and skill could be just what they need to secure that elusive first victory. Cricket fans will be watching closely to see if this loan move pays off.
