The Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball program is on a serious roll this offseason, and the momentum just hit a new high. On Friday, head coach Porter Moser secured a massive commitment from Quincy Wadley, a four-star shooting guard in the Class of 2026. At 6-foot-4, Wadley is a dynamic talent out of Arizona, ranked as the No. 52 player in the nation by 247Sports' composite rankings. He was one of the last top-100 prospects still on the board, and his decision to join the Sooners signals a major shift in the program's trajectory.

This is a landmark get for Moser—Wadley is the highest-rated recruit he's landed since arriving in Norman in 2021, and the most hyped Sooners commit since hometown hero Trae Young chose Oklahoma back in 2017. Wadley joins wing Gage Mayfield (the No. 76 player in the class) to form a formidable incoming freshman duo that has fans buzzing about the future.

What makes this commitment even more exciting is the depth it adds to an already revamped backcourt. The Sooners return guards Xzayvier Brown and Dayton Forsythe, but they've also reloaded through the transfer portal with Pop Isaacs (Texas A&M) and Tyler Hendricks (Utah Valley State). That gives Moser four proven rotational players to help ease Wadley into the college game, allowing him to develop without the pressure of being an immediate star.

This infusion of talent comes at a crucial time. Oklahoma has only made the NCAA Tournament once during Moser's tenure, and after a rocky 1-9 start in SEC play last season, his job security was in question. But the team rallied, finishing strong with a runner-up performance in the College Basketball Crown Tournament. Now, with Wadley in the fold and a roster that looks deeper than it has in years, the Sooners are shaping up to be a legitimate NCAA Tournament contender. For a program that's been rebuilding, this is the kind of offseason that changes everything.
