Former Wisconsin Badgers star Mimi Colyer is already making history in the professional ranks. The standout outside hitter, who dominated during her collegiate career, has been named the 2026 Major League Volleyball Outside Hitter of the Year as a rookie with the Dallas Pulse.

Colyer, who earned AVCA Outside Hitter of the Year honors in 2025, has seamlessly transitioned from Madison to the pros. The California native didn't just excel—she rewrote the record books. She led the MLV in points (523), points per set (5.08), kills (466), and kills per set (4.52), setting new single-season league records in every category.

Her incredible performance earned her unanimous All-League First Team honors, making her the first player in Pulse history to receive both awards. For a league still finding its footing, Colyer's dominance signals a bright future.

Badgers fans can still catch Colyer in action. The Pulse take on No. 3 San Diego Mojo in a semifinal matchup on Thursday, May 7, following the No. 1 Indy Ignite vs. No. 4 Omaha Supernovas game at 7:00 p.m. ET. It's a must-watch for anyone who loves seeing former college stars shine on the biggest stage.
